This was in this weeks bulletin at church:
'Piety Shop-carvings on sale. Some olive wood artefacts-crucifixes, rosaries, and crosses are now available for purchase in the Piety Shop. These have been made by the Bethlehem Olive Wood Carvers who are experiencing many difficulties-80% unemployment, political turmoil and violence. (One of the carvers was recently beaten up in his own home in front of his family by the local police force. The reason was that they demanded money and he had none to give). Your support is making a difference. In a community of more than 300, selling carvings means food, heat, medical care and a roof over their families heads. This is a real achievement'
The picture here is of one that I bought. I put it next to a teaspoon so you could see it's size. It's thick, and I think unique. If anyone wants one, I'll bring them over in October and get it to you. It cost £3.50 or about $6.50 USD. If anyone is looking for a gift for someone, communion coming up, or you'd like one for any reason, let me know and send over your donations.

Silly me! I want some. There are so many of my friends that are sick now and I would love to give them some..I will send the money over or do you want it when you get here?e-mail me!. Is everything the same price? I would lke the crucifix and the rosary.

I also have Tina Turner tickets. Six of them to be exact. The concert is Nov. 2 (Sunday) and they cost me $108 each. If anyone knows of someone who wants to go please let me know. I am going to have Neil put them on Craig's list soon. My credit card company wants to be paid.

I bought 8 tickets when everyone said yeah, lets go, that'll be fun. But since then people have had to back out and haven't decided as of yet. You and I still have our tickets, that is if you still want to go.... that said, I need to unload the remaining 6 tickets.
aunt mary! yeah i was talking about the 24th of october-our whole familia will be in boone for some football and seeing ricky! you should def. come up, for the day, the whole weekend, an hour, whatever! i think that fall pictures @ the mountains would be great !!
