We got back to the city on Saturday, June 13, 2020.  We spent the day unpacking, sorting, cleaning, etc, boring stuff mostly.  On Sunday, we went grocery shopping because we have the rental car til Monday.  Wegmans was pretty crowded, but had plenty of food.  Then the weather/day was too gorgeous to spend it ALL inside continuing to sort (we had to put away all our winter clothes and get summer stuff out of storage!) So we walked, a lot!  In the end, we walked over 17k steps.  I was achy and tired last night, had to take a bath too.  What we saw was a pretty quiet NYC.  Strange to have so few people on a gorgeous day, and no restaurants open to stop in for a drink or a snack :-(   However, we did walk past parks on the west side where a lot of people were picnicking with and without dogs, all social distancing and wearing masks, makes me want to plan one for us this week!  The first photo below is me walking back from Hayle's apartment.  There is quite the stash of 'free' stuff at the bottom of our building.  So many people moving out, and there was a TV down there.  We tested it and it works, just had to order a remote for $12, woohoo!  The subway is cleaned every night, I'm sure the city has never really been this clean!  and the other phot's are from yesterday.  The dogs, and a quiet wall st.

Every year, John and I go for a ride on New Year’s Day to explore someplace new. This year we chose Macon—because I had to meet someone to give them something—long story. Anyway we went to Bass Pro Shops then took a ride through Macon. I swear that place is dead every time I go there. Ok, I have been there for the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival and it isn’t dead then. But, seriously we have gone several times and we feel like we are the only car in the city.
Needless to say, Bass Pro Shop was the bet stop until. . . that’s right—we stopped for ice cream on the way home.
