i agree!! so I'll bore you with my life. I am chair of the PTA at Hayle's school. Last Friday we had the Annual Ball. I did not organize the ball, but I did sort out all the raffle prizes and an auctioneer and auction prizes (well, I found someone to do all that) ticket sales sucked. last 2 years we had over 120 tickets sold, this year we sold 85. The Hilton required we sell 120 tickets! But thankfully the girl who organized it, negotiated them down to 90. so, we were barely going to break even after selling raffle tickets. in fact, we would be a little short. then the auction starts. going REALLY well. people are drinking, and bidding, and having fun (I got a gold record and signed photo of Tom Jones!) ok, so the organizer girl (I'll call her Amanda) comes up to me in the middle of the auction and says he's going on too long, people are getting annoyed, and they want to dance. I said ok. but then ignored her, it's a fundraiser! so a little while later, she takes it upon herself, to walk onto the dance floor, and interrupt BIDDING and told the auctioneer to end it now! Can you believe it!!!!! is this a dance or a fundraiser??!! I can't wait til our next meeting!
Whoa, what a dumby. I would say something else, but small eyes may see. Well, I have a job offer. It doesn't pay very well but I think I will like it. It is sitting in million dollar homes in Atlanta (showing them) and updating the multiple listing servers and website for a REALTOR in Atlanta. I am very excited about it. I will actually have a paycheck every two weeks. This is so exciting. I don't even have to sell any of the homes. But I can earn bonuses by selling.
OMG! that does sound nice. Because automatically you'll get dressed up everyday (I miss that!!) walk around like you own the house! meeting fancy people (I hope you don't meet snobs) anyway, a paycheck every 2 weeks sounds nice too. I'm working but since I never got my national insurance number they can't pay me. So yesterday I had an 'interview' to get it. should be like 2 weeks. thne I'll submit my hours and hopefully get a paycheck.
Good enough. Yeah, I can't wait to start getting a pay check. And don't worry, if I meet any snobs I will become a snob too. I will need to go shopping with my first pay check. After all, I need to look like I own the freakin place.
Hey Mary, when do you start your new job? Sounds good!!! I haven't done anything new lately. I still workout everyother day but I'm not losing any weight or inches. I'm about to give up!!! I have to cut this short, going out to meet some friends for a glass of wine.
I started today. I already like it, but then who doesn't on the first day. It is all the things I love about real estate with no selling. What more could you ask for. Making flyers, showing homes, marketing, scheduling and updating the web.
Congratulations Mary on your new job. Now everyone can pray I find one. We are moving the party to Friday night around 5:30-6ish so that we can go watch Neil fight Saturday night. We are all excited here in Georgia. Bridget are you going to be able to make it? Does Jimmy know we are coming? See you all soon.
OK, I'm bored too. Now that I take Joey to and from school, I feel that its all I do. Take him to school, and then get ready to go pick him up. Oh well. No Barb I will not be going down on that weekend. It turns out that Mike's (40th)ugh!! class reunion is the weekend before. So we will be down there then. I would love to just stay but someone has to get Joey to school. Thats his last week. Then I'm free. Sorry folks nothing else new.
Wow people go to there 40 year reunions? How would you recognize anyone? Sorry we will have to miss your story telling, but I am sure there will be plenty of time for Jada to hear them. I guess it will be just us and the local yocals. Nancy what kind of job do you have?
the fundraising company i used to raise funds at hayle's school asked me to be a liason to other school in my area. so if a school wants to run this thing, i go over there and show them how to do it. it's really minimal work. but today, hayle and i wheeled 40 books into the city center, from the train, in one of those old lady buggy things, and stood there with a sign, and i was trying to give away a page of free coupons (the books sells for £20 and has hundreds of coupons in it) talk about feeling like a loser! people do not want to make eye contact with you, they veer away from you, run from you, you name it. and I was giving away FREE coupons for like pizza hut and subway and stuff. so we left, without selling a book. i'm like let's get out of here!
i'm here i'm here. no real new updates, except that adam just graduated last week with his masters! he's finally done with school for awhile now (until he gets the phd bug)...what the hey, i'll post a pic to spice things up!
