Where is Everyone?
Happy Halloween everyone! I decided to carve my own pumpkin last night so I could take a picture. We are having our Halloween Party in the neighborhood tomorrow. I knew I should have gone to the meeting. They are encouraging the kids to trick or treat tomorrow as well so that means we will have trick or treaters for 2 nights. Idiots.

Very Cute pumpkin Mary!! I just got home yesterday and didn't do anything for halloween! I went into the attic tonight to find something for Hayle to put on, and we realized we left our Halloween 'box' at Pete's office last year after decorating there. I did find a couple random little things to stick in the yard so people knew we would be giving out candy. We've had loads of kids so far (it's 7:30). And this is the FIRST year Hayle's gone out trick or treating with friends, no grown up at all!! But she has her phone and I think she's only going nearby. Mom, she found the pirate costume you made her adn she wore that. But of course she didn't find ALL of it. So I don;t know exactly what she is. But she's having fun!! Yay!
Our neighborhood decided to do the party and trick or treating last night and I think they ruined everything. We always have the bestest Halloween here. Last night we only had about 50-70 people. Last year, John and I served 150 hot dogs, chips and sweet tea and half the people did not want hot dogs. I hope we get a nice group tonight. I will be on the planning committee next year to make sure they do things right. If you want it done right you have to do it yourself.
Did you see Christy and Leeman and Melissa and Stephen on Christy's facebook? You should check it out.
yes, they looked great!!! But I don't know who Jem is?? You are crazy!! 50-70 and you wanted more??!! We had about 20-25 kids I think, worked out perfect, had just a coupla candies left over.
I DIDN'T KNOW YOU AND JOHN ARE STILL DOING THE HALLOWEEN THING LIKE THAT...HOW GREAT!!! NO KIDS HERE. THEE PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE WOULD PROBABLY SCARE THE KIDS AWAY.....GOING TO VOTE TODAY!
OMG, is everyone thrilled that the elections are finally over!!! The neverending TV commercials and the mudslinging!!! There were nothing but negative AD's and NO-ONE saying what they were going to do.
I'm excited that Neil will be coming down here for Christmas and bringing his new girlfriend. She seems real nice.
Lindsey was one of the "victims" in a haunted house this year. She had to lay on a table and two guys stood over her, one with a chain saw and the other guy was ripping her insides out. Anyway, for the last tour of people to come through, someone turned the lights out before they were ready and the guy with the chain saw couldn't find the socket to plug the saw back in. Lindsey said you could hear him cursing and then all of a sudden he says "vrrooooommmm mmmmm mmmm mmmmm" They weren't so scarey after that.
thats funny!
That is funny! The kind of haunted house I would want to go to.
Please don't tell me Linsey let someone play with a real chain saw over her?
Funny about the political ads. They were horrible and I am so glad they are over for at least another 2 years. I hate ALL politicians. Wish we could get someone honest and patriotic. GA is so over run by corruption and greed it isn't funny. But then I live amidst the bible belt. Southern Baptists are the greediest, corrupt people I have ever met. I always call them the "great justifiers" because they can justify all their dirty little deeds. Oh, well.
Oh Mary ,You sound like a real politician...and YES, I am so happy all is over....I wish thy would pass a bill of that requires only a 30second political ad every 5 hrs....Well, lets see now what the new guys will do for us...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
In this state we will just go down hill from here. Sorry, but Nathan Deal is a crook. He is listed as one of the top 13 most crooked politicians in the nation and he just became our Governor. Of course we didn't have much to choose from, but a known crook? Are you kidding me? Whatever.
Years ago, (it might have changed since then)in Scotland the politicians were not allowed to run political AD's until 2 months before the elections. Boy would I love that here!!!
I've been trying to avoid staying on Facebook because Linsey asked me to be friends with her boyfriend's mother. I did. But now I do everything possible to not be on when she is and it seems she is there all the time. AARRGGH.
Nancy I see you were going to chat but I logged off too quick, sorry.
I think I broke my toe last week and it is still bright red (that's after it had turned black and blue). I might have to break down and go to the doctor's. I hate spending the money because I don't think there's anything you can do for a broken toe. Is there?
Sorry Kathy, there is nothing you can do for a broken toe. Wrap it up.
You can switch the chat to offline so Linsey's friend's mom won't know when you are on. That's what I did to avoid a friend of mine that keeps telling me to call her when she sees I am on line. If I don't call she kept typing in all caps, "Mare, are you going to call?" I have been offline for months now.
that sucks, cuz then -I- can't chat with you, and I know you would chat with me! Right?
You could always 'unfriend' her and pretend you dont know how that happened?
I'll try to remember to go online long enough to see if you are online when I get up in the morning.
BTW, I discovered a great blog about food. This woman has great pictures and great recipes. I made the Pumpkin bread with Cinnamon Pecan Filling and it was delicious. She also has a list of other food blogs along the left side of her blog. If you like to cook or eat, check it out. http://www.honeyandjam.com/
Gotta get to work, but yes Nancy, I would always want to talk to you!!
Will work something out with the Facebook tonight.
OK...Who is this family wants to draw names for Christmas presents? We can do it on Thanksgiving..but we need to know who wants to do it and suggestions as to what it should cost et.. Lets have some input.. i think it would be fun... who wants an in?//
Hey Mary, just start a new blog for this "braun Christmas" event...Lets get something going!!
Mom I think we should just post here. That is the whole purpose of the blog so we have one place to go for all the family info.
When i said a new blog, I meant a new picture...and Christmassy. To get people in the mood!!!
Let's see I think you have been blogging for about 4 years now. I thought you were a little more knowledgeable on the lingo so lets review a little blogging 101.
1)We have a Family "Blog"
2)When you want to start a new subject you "post" it
3)If you want to express your view on the new subject you "comment"
I know you are getting up there in years, I'm just saying, I thought you were more computer savvy then that.
Gerry hopes you are in a good mood when you read this.
Love you.
I have been waiting for Barb to post pictures from her last trip. But after that I will post something Christmassy. I don't mind drawing names but I am horrible about mailing things on time.
Well Mom, after Barb spanked you, I put you in timeout, but that's all over now. So.....yes i would love to exchange Xmas gifts. Put my name in the hat. Oh, and like Mary, I'm not too good with the mailing thing but I will certainly give it a shot.
Thank God, I am out of time out....I think we will give you a date that the present must be mailed. If you don;t mail it by the date, there will be a penalty... We will discuss it at Thanksgiving, when the majority of the family will be here....any suggestions? (for the penalty)..
OK just got back from shopping in NY with Brittany and I'm in the spirit, so yes Britt, and I are in. By the way OUCH, grandma, did that hurt?
I'm in!! the penalty? Public scorn of course! I mean, if you're given 'a date' to send by, just do it man. And if you send it on time, you won't have to send it to Wales, I'll be in NC. Let me know what's going on since I WON'T BE IN FL FOR THANKSGIVING!! whatever.
By the way, Mary, put a christmassy picture up now, some people are in the spirit NOW!
